WEF Week 8 Newsletter

Although week 8 was a relatively quiet one for the Beacon Hill Team, it was extremely important to take the time to rest up and prepare for the final four weeks of the winter circuit. WEF is such an important part of our competition schedule as it allows for ample time in and out of the show ring, but requires extensive planning by our team to ensure that both horses and riders are staying mentally and physically fit, happy, and healthy for the duration of the 12 weeks!

Those that did take to the show ring during Week 8 continued putting in strong performances with both new and familiar mounts!

Reese Merna kicked the week off with a win in the Platinum Performance/USEF Talent Search 3* aboard Trouvaille and Caroline Mirts followed in the winning ways piloting Independence M to a 92 and blue ribbon in the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) Jumper phase and 4th overall!

Sofia Moskowitz and Jordan Gibbs also put in great rounds and racked up some more points in the WIHS Jumper and Hunter Phases on Friday. Sofia and Dark Night DC took 5th place overall, and Jordan and Cent 15 closed out the two phases in 6th place overall.

Lillian Soroken and Hanakara continued their winning ways in the jumper ring taking home the blue in the $1,500 Children’s Jumper 15-17. Meredith Miller and Amadeus had great rides in the Adult Amateur Hunter 18-35 division taking 6th place honors over fences on both Saturday and Sunday. Alexandra Parisi and A D Reed finished off the day with a win in the 15-17 Equitation 3’3” over fences.

Sunday welcomed jumper classics and equitation medals and our riders brought their A-game!

Isabella David piloted Cabo Frio DV Z to 1st place in the THIS Adult National Medal, 2nd in the Palm Beach Adult Medal, 1st in the Adult equitation over fences, 4th on the flat, and reserve champion in the adult equitation. It’s such a pleasure having Isabella back with us from college- even if its just for a short amount of time!

Alexandra Parisi and Bernardo DW Z had a banner weekend in the jumpers taking the win in the $2,500 NAL/WIHS Children’s Jumper 15-17 Classic and championship honors in the Children’s Jumper division! Congrats Alex and Bernie!

Eve Westfall and her relatively new partner, Cisca VH Lindenhof Z jumped clear and fast in the $10,000 NAL Medium Junior Jumper Classic to earn 2nd place in a large and competitive class.

The equitation wrapped up Sunday afternoon with Emma Blumenkrantz aboard Indiana Jones and Sofia Moskowitz with Dark Night DC riding to 2nd and 5th respectively in Section B of the Dover Saddlery/ USEF Hunter Seat Medal!
